On this most solemn Good Friday morning, I come in silence and sorrow to stand before Your Cross. I adore You, O Holy Cross, the instrument of our salvation. Upon your wood, Love itself was lifted high, and the price of our redemption was paid in full. My heart is heavy with sorrow for my sins, the very sins that made this sacrifice necessary. Forgive me, Lord. Grant me the grace, I pray, to unite my own small sufferings with Your perfect Passion. May I carry my cross with patience, trusting in Your love. For the whole world, for which You died, I intercede. Have mercy on all who suffer, all who are lost, and draw every heart to the foot of this Cross. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Yet, You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Your people. In You alone is our hope. In Jesus Name Amen.
