Finding your seat… letting your body settle… and gently closing your eyes… Begin by simply noticing your breath… as it is… no need to change it… just feeling the natural rhythm… the cool air entering… the warm air leaving… This breath has carried you through your Friday… Now, let’s deepen it a little… Inhale slowly through your nose… and exhale even more slowly through your mouth… letting the out-breath be longer… and at the end… a gentle pause… Feel the week’s momentum begin to soften with each long release… Inhale slowly… exhale longer… and pause… Bring your hands to rest on your belly… On your next inhale, feel your belly gently rise… filling like a soft balloon… On the exhale, feel it fall… releasing… This is the breath of rest… the breath that says, “The work is done…” Now let the breath move into your chest… Feel your ribcage expand softly to the sides on the inhale… and soften completely on the exhale… Releasing any tightness you’ve carried here… any remnants of the week’s conversations or concerns… Let them go with the breath… Bring your awareness to your shoulders and neck… areas that often hold the weight of responsibility… On your next exhale, imagine a wave of warmth melting down from your shoulders… loosening any knots… letting your shoulders drop away from your ears… You have carried the load… and now you can set it down… Allow that softening to travel down through your body… Your arms grow heavy and relaxed… your back muscles soften and release… your hips and legs let go of all holding… feeling the gentle support of the chair or floor beneath you… All the way down to your feet… releasing fully… In this deep stillness… simply rest… There is nothing to do… nowhere to be… You have finished the week’s chapter. As it is written, *“Be still, and know…”* In this quiet, there is only presence… and peace… When you’re ready… begin to gently deepen your breath again… wiggle your fingers and toes… and at your own pace… open your eyes… carrying this calm with you into your evening and rest.
